New Pens are Brewing

A flight of beer-inspired pens

Blending Sculpey premium oven-bake clay (#ad) colors like copper, yellow gold glitter, white gold glitter, latte, and poppy seed, I was able to achieve some of the “beer” tones for this new collection.

The simple act of kneading, rolling, and folding the clay until it’s soft and smooth is so satisfying. Adding little bits of clay color here and there to get the warm ambers, pale yellows, and rich chocolates was very rewarding.

Attempting to create the “foam” for each type and style of beer was somewhat challenging, but these pens are definitely one of a kind, and any libationist will hopefully appreciate the effort.

Hefeweizen, Imperial, Tulip, and IPA glass inspired pens

We will be showcasing these new pens as well as all our other artisan products at our next LIVE vendor event at Fat Hill Brewing on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 5 PM - 8 PM. The theme for the event is “Summer Ladies Night Out,” and features amazing local merchants and small businesses. Fat Hill Brewing is a locally owned 7-barrel craft brewery in the historic downtown of Mason City, Iowa. Since the event venue is a brewery, I was motivated to come up with a pen distinctive to the night planned, and I had so much fun throughout the process.
